Published purpose
This project focuses on ensuring the sustainability of previous achievements while addressing new and concrete needs of the Organization of American States (OAS) Member States. The project will lead OAS Member States to improve their security sector reforms and crime prevention policies in the long term, reflecting two of the main priorities of the Anti-Crime Capacity Building Program (ACCBP). This project is designed by the Organization of American States Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (OAS/CICTE) and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). Project activities include: (1) improving national security frameworks; (2) strengthening regional cooperation mechanisms; and (3) enhancing security policies based on a human rights approach.
