Published purpose
This project aims to strengthen ASEAN member states counter-terrorism capabilities by reinforcing (1) counter-terrorism legislative frameworks; (2) law enforcement and judicial capacity; (3) international regional cooperation on terrorism; and (4) preventing/countering violent extremism that may lead to terrorism. Project activities include: (1) reviews of existing counter-terrorism legislative frameworks and related financial regulations; 2) facilitating legal reforms; (3) promoting systematic information-sharing amongst counter-terrorism officials; and (4) strengthening criminal justice protection and assistance to victims of terrorism.
