Published purpose
The project aims to enhance women and girls’ social and economic growth. It focuses especially on women from Dalit and most vulnerable groups by relying on proven poverty reduction measures. The project ensures that these women know about their human rights and can claim them. It focuses on micro and small-scale enterprises adapting to climate change, enhancing their performance and increasing their access to the products and services they need. The project also works to strengthen women’s and girl’s aspirations, confidence, decision-making autonomy and leadership. In parallel, it promotes a strong sense of community inclusion and sisterhood, enabling them to effectively engage in their communities. Project activities include: (1) enhancing agricultural livelihoods through diversification and best practices; (2) increasing the membership of community-level women’s groups; (3) increasing community knowledge and understanding of human rights issues affecting the most vulnerable women and girls; and (4) increasing capacity of local partner non-governmental organizations serving women and girls to advocate for human rights.
