Published purpose
This project aims to contribute to the prevention, resolution and mitigation of deadly conflict by arming stakeholders and decision-makers with the early information and in-depth analysis they need, in order to take preventative action. This project focuses on the risks of political exclusion and the opportunities for inclusion in different conflicts around the world. The project also works to develop gender-sensitive, thoroughly researched, and pragmatic policy recommendations, and find new ways to promote those ideas with relevant decision-makers and key conflict actors, with a focus on taking action so that they can help bridge the gap between analysis and action. The project works to devote particular attention to women’s political participation in different stages of conflict and conflict resolution, shedding light on poorly understood gender dynamics in conflict settings, including the shaping of norms and the politicization of societal expectations on men and women.
