Published purpose
This project seeks to increase the capacity of Georgia to detect and deter the smuggling of nuclear or radiological materials. Specifically, it supports Georgian security agencies with securing checkpoints established along the administrative lines of control with Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Project activities include: (1) providing radiation detection, communication, surveillance, and inspection equipment to Georgian security agencies; and (2) providing related operational and maintenance training on the equipment.
