Published purpose
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is one of the three pillars of the Red Cross movement. The IFRC coordinates and works with national societies around the world to provide humanitarian aid to people affected by natural or man-made disasters, mainly in non-conflict situations. The proposed initiative will support several IFRC Appeals which aim to provide urgent and life-saving assistance to vulnerable people in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bangladesh and South America. Project activities include: (1) supporting the provision of basic services to Venezuelans in countries affected by the crisis including first aid services, psychosocial support and the distribution of information materials to crisis-affected and in-transit people; (2) increasing access to protection, health care and material relief assistance to refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh; and (3) establishing and maintaining infection prevention and control measures in health facilities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
