Published purpose

In June 2019, Legal Aid Ontario will host the International Legal Aid Group (ILAG) Conference in Ottawa, Ontario. The purpose of the conference is to facilitate discussion and dialogue of international developments in policy and research related to legal aid services. This will improve evidence-based policy-making and improve access to justice. The conference will provide a forum for the identification and understanding of important issues and trends, gaps and opportunities for innovation in the provision of legal aid services and access to justice. Conference participants will include chief executives and managers from Legal Aid Commissions, senior policy makers in government ministries, and academics working in the access to justice field.
