Published purpose

The Foster Family Coalition of the Northwest Territories (FFCNWT) will expand the 4Y Program - a program that offers regular, one on one support to youth who are diagnosed with or are suspected of having Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) - to create a justice-specific component. The 'Justice Stream' of the 4Y Program will consist of intensive and specialized support services offered to youth who are diagnosed with or suspected of having FASD and are involved in the justice system. Through the 'Justice Stream', the FFCNWT will provide wraparound services and create a network of community support for the youth in the program, as well as for their caregivers and family. They will also provide training for justice professionals throughout the Northwest Territories to promote better practices in working with youth who have FASD in the criminal justice system.
