Published purpose
The organization will provide independent legal advice for people who have experienced intimate partner violence, including physical violence, sexual violence, threats of violence, forcible confinement, harassment or stalking, psychological and emotional violence, financial abuse, and deprivation of the necessaries of life. The program will provide trauma-informed advice about the legal implications of the violence they have experienced and information about legal options that may exist in their particular situation. This may include, but is not limited to, criminal investigations, civil litigation, relevant administrative boards or tribunals, peace bonds and emergency protection orders, family law proceedings, internal disciplinary proceedings in institutions, organizations, and businesses, and other legal routes.
