Published purpose

Women of the Métis Nation will host a two and a half day winter gathering for 8 to 12 Métis MMWG2S+ families. The gathering will bring together 20-25 Métis participants impacted by MMIWG2S+ from Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. The project will seek to create and maintain space for MMWG2S+ mixed race families/survivors to identify gaps, challenges and strategies for resilience and change; prioritize Métis cultural teachings, ceremonies, arts, and land-based healing practices that affirm intersecting identities; and strengthen networks of support and solidarity while developing and sharing knowledge and skills to increase access to justice and well-being.
