Published purpose

Over the next five fiscal years, Alberta will enhance victim services and promote access to justice for victims and survivors of crime by: enhancing online training provided to victim serving stakeholders; addressing information-security and sharing barriers and identifying technologies to support transformation; the expanded implementation of the Domestic Violence Justice Response to mid-size urban and rural areas to enhance services to victims/families involved intimate partner violence charge files and undertaking various activities to support the implementation of the Canadian Victim Bill of Rights, including further distribution of testimonial aids for victims of crime, update the Alberta Victims of Crime Protocol for victims and the Roles and Responsibilities document for all criminal justice providers, and address policies and processes to support participation of victims and survivors in the criminal justice process.
