Published purpose

This project seeks to enhance supports to survivors of intimate partner violence by increasing family law practitioners’ (legal aid, court workers, etc.) access to training, guidance, and resources that support trauma-informed practices. An environmental scan will assess current services and resources to identify gaps for frontline training, and engagement sessions will be conducted to identify Inuit knowledge, risks, and challenges regarding intimate partner violence within the family justice system. Workshops will be developed to assist legal professionals across Inuit Nunangat regions to understand the challenges, risks, and needs of Inuit women and intimate partner violence in the justice system.
