Published purpose
The project will increase awareness and skills among Nova Scotia Crown Attorneys to help them better recognize and effectively deal with, in the prosecution context, the traumatic impact hate crime has on victims, both as individuals and affected communities. The project will develop and deliver written hate crime guidance for Nova Scotia Crown Attorneys and provide them online and in-person training on prosecuting hate crimes. The project will conduct in-person training of Newfoundland Crowns on the topic of hate crimes. The training will include recognizing and prosecuting hate crimes.
