This project aims to strengthen social cohesion, resilience and empowerment of women and girls in the face of climate change in the Lake Chad and Kanem provinces of Chad. The project activities include: (1) providing technical support to administrative authorities and the regional council and local elected officials for improved decision-making on social cohesion; (2) training women's and girls' groups on the practice of smart agriculture in the context of climate change; (3) developing business plans for the empowerment of women and girls; and (4) providing financial credits to women and girls. This initiative is intended to directly benefit 18,000 people, including women farmers' associations, pastoralists, women and girls, and indirectly to 90,000 members of the targeted communities.
