Published purpose

This project focuses on mitigating climate change and conserving biodiversity in the Peruvian Amazon. The objective is to limit deforestation and forest degradation by restoring degraded ecosystems, while creating and strengthening bio-enterprises in the region that generate income for vulnerable populations, particularly women and indigenous peoples of the Amazon. Project activities include: 1) creating a public-private financing platform for bio-enterprises; 2) providing technical assistance to producers in commercial and financial management, as well as in the sustainable management of natural resources and land; 3) developing national and regional laws, policies, regulations and programs favorable to bio-enterprises.
