Published purpose

The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) is the world’s largest public agricultural research partnership, with presence a in 89 countries and the largest and most frequently accessed network of genebanks globally. Canada is supporting CGIAR’s 2030 Research and Innovation Strategy to deliver impact in the areas of climate adaptation and mitigation; environmental health and biodiversity; gender equality, youth and social inclusion; nutrition, health and food security; and poverty reduction, livelihoods and jobs. This funding comes from Canada’s $5.3 billion Climate Finance Commitment and is part of Canada’s overall institutional support to CGIAR.
