Published purpose

This project seeks to improve, with Canada's support, gender and ethnic inclusion throughout the peace process in Israel and the West Bank. The project aims to engage women leaders at multiple levels: directly engaging with nationally influential women and emerging women leaders, Israeli government and Palestinian Authority officials, civil society, and media. The aim is to improve locally led initiatives that strengthen public and policy support for women-led peace and security in diverse communities of Israel and West Bank and Gaza. Project activities include: (1) establishing a women-led steering committee and joint policy working groups; (2) strengthening community organizing, messaging and dialogue; (3) developing joint advocacy activities and multimedia campaigns; and (4) leading community action circles and collaborative community initiatives. The project is being implemented by Search for Common Ground in collaboration with Itach Maaki - Women Lawyers for Social Justice, and the Jerusalem Center for Women.
