Published purpose

This project aims to strengthen the capacity of grassroots women-led, feminist, and women’s rights organizations across Iraq to implement programs addressing self-defined Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) priorities. Project activities include: (1) providing targeted training to local organizations to develop technical and programmatic capacities; (2) providing flexible funding to locally-led WPS initiatives; (3) facilitating and strengthening network development so that women-led, women’s rights organizations, and individual women activists can share best practices and learn; and (4) supporting the joint development of a localized WPS agenda to lobby and advocate the government around key policies and their implementation.
