Published purpose
Building on Phase I of this project, during which time a prototype tool was developed to track chemical transfers, Phase II aims to streamline industry reporting and national declarations of international chemical transfers. Project activities include: (1) supporting the development and the refinement of a prototype software platform that uses distributed ledger technology (DLT) as a tool to reconcile discrepancies in declared transfers of dual-use chemicals covered under Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 of the Chemical Weapons Convention; and (2) developing an outreach strategy to engage relevant stakeholders who will take part in testing of the prototype.
