Published purpose
To adapt, promote, distribute and apply the Workplace Informal Learning Matrix (WILM) in the Eastern and Avalon Region of Newfoundland. This tool, new to the province of Newfoundland, will be piloted within the Manufacturing/Value-Added sector in this region to determine if the WILM is of value to utilize within Newfoundland workplaces. The specific objectives include: 1. Increase awareness of an existing workplace essential skills tool (WILM). 2. Increase employee retention and essential skills, identify strengths and areas for improvement relating to information essential skills learning. 3. Increase the use of successful literacy and essential skills tools into the regular business practices of SMEs.
