Published purpose
This project is part of the Technical Assistance and Aid Effectiveness Project (TAAEP). It aims to deploy short-and long-term specialist advisory resources, provide targeted technical assistance, and mainstream gender equality in key areas and sectors in Tanzania. Global Affairs Canada (GAC) collaborates with the Government of Tanzania, civil society, and other donors to identify, manage, and effectively implement technical assistance. The technical assistance seeks to improve aid effectiveness across all GAC programming areas. Types of technical needs supported include: (1) gender-sensitive strategic planning; (2) evidence-based policy research and development; (3) policy dialogue; (4) monitoring and evaluation; (5) public expenditure tracking; (6) public consultations; (7) targeted and special audits; (8) strengthened procurement and audit systems; (9) gender budgeting; (10) strengthened intergovernmental linkages; (11) budget consultations; (12) donor coordination; (13) research and analysis; (14) communications; (15) provision of resources for studies; and (16) workshops and training for the Government of Tanzania and civil society partners engaged in GAC’s programming areas. Through this TAAEP sub-project, Canada provides support to the Development Partners Group (DPG) main group and the other DPG sectoral groups to facilitate development dialogue and mutual accountability between the Government of Tanzania (GoT) and Development Partners (DPs), including Canada.
