Published purpose

This project supports national COVID-19 preparedness and response activities in Kenya and Guatemala. Project activities include: (1) supporting infection prevention control; (2) disseminating messages on preventing the spread of COVID-19; (3) training health staff, midwives, and community volunteers; (4) providing inputs for handwashing solutions and water storage; (5) empowering mothers and caregivers at the community level; (6) sensitizing healthcare workers on Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition; and (7) supporting the inclusion of emergency prevention and response actions related to COVID-19. This project is implemented by Action Against Hunger Canada in Kenya in collaboration with Action Against Hunger Kenya, Helen Keller International, and the Ministry of Health. In Guatemala, it is implemented with Action Against Hunger Guatemala, Médicos del Mundo España en Guatemala, Asociación de Investigación y Estudios Sociales, and local government organizations. This project represents additional funds provided to a pre-existing project in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The expected results are the same.
