Published purpose

This project aims to strengthen and develop Senegal’s knowledge-based economy by building upon the established African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Industry Initiative and Co-op Master’s Program to support the integration and engagement of Senegalese female and male scientists in industry and entrepreneurship across the Francophonie. The project strengthens the capacity of AIMS Senegal to deliver skills-for-employment through demand-driven work placements in the science and technology sectors with a focus on integrating women scientists and deepening sustainable linkages with the private sector in Senegal and other Francophonie countries. The direct beneficiaries of this project are 200 AIMS Senegal students enrolled in the Cooperative Master, 320 students enrolled in the post AIMS professional aptitude certificate and 2,250 students enrolled in online courses. This project is implemented by the AIMS - Next Einstein Initiative Foundation (Canada) in partnership with AIMS Senegal.
