YCI - Youth Challenge International

Published purpose

This project is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), funded by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. The IYIP is designed to offer Canadian post-secondary graduates the opportunity to gain professional experience in international development. As part of the Innovate ME project, Youth Challenge International sends 92 interns to six countries. Interns address the following local needs: youth engagement and leadership development; environmental sustainability; youth livelihood, literacy and workforce development; youth access to technology; and the promotion of science, technology, engineering and mathematics for youth, including applying them to real-life situations.
