Mer et Monde

Published purpose

This project is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), funded by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. The IYIP is designed to offer Canadian post-secondary graduates the opportunity to gain professional experience in international development. The organization Mer et Monde sends 160 interns to Senegal and Nicaragua as part of the Standing Together in Action project. The project is part of an approach to empower vulnerable populations by meeting their education needs, particularly training on social mobilization and democratic governance, as well as food security, including improvement of soil quality and marketing of local products.
