Published purpose
This project aims to improve the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of poor and socially excluded people, or people living in underserved areas, especially women, girls and youth, in Mali, Malawi, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala. It seeks to improve access to quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services and strengthen governments’ support in these countries. Project activities include: (1) strengthening the ability of International Planned Parenthood Federation’s member associations’ to provide a full range of integrated SRH services and to disseminate information about these services; and (2) increasing the ability of civil society organizations to hold governments to account for their SRH services and related spending commitments, and to build public support for SRHR. An estimated 10.4 million people are expected to benefit from sexual and reproductive health services, which is expected to contribute to averting 1.5 million unintended pregnancies.
