Published purpose

This project aims to mitigate terrorism proliferation by helping to strengthen the operational capacities of the Nigerian Border Police along the Nigerian-Libyan border. Project activities include: (1) supporting the delivery of a mobile police border post to the Nigerian Border Police; (2) providing training to 20 border police officers, and creating a manual on procedures at borders in Niger; and (3) conducting a joint mission between the International Organization for Migration staff and Nigerian Authorities from the Ministry of the Interior, Nigerian National Police and local authorities from across the region to discuss issues relating to the migration phenomenon in Niger and the Sahel, communication between central and local authorities, and corruption.
