Published purpose

This project contributes to the development of national legislation on biosafety and biosecurity in Mali to strengthen biological risk management in West Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA). It aims to promote sustainable biosafety and biosecurity measures in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. Project activities include: (1) supporting various national stakeholders in Mali to draft a law and standards on biosafety, biosecurity, and biological risk management; (2) creating a national agency for biological risk management in Mali; (3) organizing 2 workshops in the MENA region on biological risk management; (4) holding 2 basic-level accreditation certification workshops for biological safety cabinets; (5) providing a model tool for sustainable biological risk management programs in the ASEAN region; and (6) conducting awareness and review sessions for professional certification in biological risk management for candidates from ASEAN, the MENA region, and West Africa
