Published purpose

This project, also known as the Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS), aims to improve coordinated multi-sector needs assessments before, during, or after the humanitarian response to global humanitarian crises. With the support of GAC and other donors, the project provides evidence-based analysis for decision-making during humanitarian crises. Project activities include: (1) developing innovative needs assessment methodologies and tools in order to provide faster, more precise and cost effective assessments of humanitarian crises; and (2) training organizations and experts to build a roster of trained deployable assessment experts. This project is being implemented by a consortium of two international non-governmental organizations: Save the Children and the Norwegian Refugee Council.
