Published purpose

This project aims to increase biological non-proliferation and threat reduction capacity in West Africa with an emphasis on anthrax as a bioterrorism agent. Project activities include: (1) conducting a gap analysis and providing training in the development and use of standard operating procedures for working with anthrax; (2) training in biosafety and biosecurity guidelines and the development of laboratory skills to work with anthrax; and (3) training in the implementation of biosafety and biosecurity best practices at the veterinary laboratory in Pong-Tamale, Ghana.
