The objective of this initiative is to strengthen the capacity of key Government of Ethiopia (GoE) institutions in implementing its economic and financial reform agenda. These reforms have broad impacts in Ethiopia by increasing employment and salaries, improving purchasing power, enhancing the diversity and availability of products and services, and strengthening governance. In addition, the project aims to contribute to ensuring that the Government of Ethiopia’s economic and financial reforms are successfully implemented in an inclusive, transparent and accountable manner with the following results: (1) increased Finance for development in a sustainable manner; (2) enhanced competitiveness and development of the financial sector; and (3) enhanced transparency and accountability of the reform process. Project activities will focus on the provision of much needed technical assistance and advisory services to select GoE institutions in order to help implement Government reforms supported through the World Bank approved 3-year Development Policy Financing series.
