Published purpose
This project aims to strengthen the Government of Tanzania’s capacity to rapidly detect and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Project activities include: (1) supporting the government’s COVID-19 vaccination planning and roll-out; (2) producing and disseminating materials promoting compliance with COVID-19 safety precautions, COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, and sexual and gender-based violence prevention; (3) increasing the capacity of health workers and regional teams on COVID-19 surveillance and vaccination; (4) providing technical support to laboratories performing COVID-19 diagnostic testing; (5) procuring equipment to support regional preparations for the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine; and (6) supporting the continuity of essential health services and minimizing the impact of the pandemic on health systems, social services, women, girls and the most vulnerable.
