Published purpose

The project aims to help women and girls make progress on gender-based violence (GBV) exacerbated by the socio-economic repercussions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Tunisia. It does so through a 2-year project valued at $2 million to improve prevention and response to GBV against women and girls, increase public awareness to end GBV and increase the resilience of marginalized women and girls. Approximately 2,800 direct beneficiaries (vulnerable and marginalized women, women micro-entrepreneurs, women business owners, specialized police units, 5 Tunisian ministries, parliamentarians, private sector and civil society organizations) and 50,000 indirect beneficiaries (family members and overall population) benefit from the project.
