Parliamentarians for Global Action

Published purpose

This project supports Parliamentarians for Global Action’s efforts to increase the ratification and effective implementation by Non-State Parties of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT), the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and its 2005 Amendment (ACPPNM). Project activities include: (1) organizing eight regional workshops to build awareness of ICSANT, CPPNM and ACPPNM and of the legislative assistance available; (2) developing and adopting national plans of action; (3) providing technical and/or legislative assistance for the ratification and implementation of the conventions; and (4) performing further outreach to parliamentarians to promote the universal implementation of the conventions.
