Published purpose

This project aims to improve the quality of life of men and women living in Cabo Delgado province by increasing access to sufficient safe and nutritious food and improving livelihoods. The project increases the capacity of farmers and households to produce food and provides them with greater access to financial services and markets. It addresses the root causes of insufficient access to safe and nutritious food and of poverty by providing assistance in the areas of agriculture, enterprise development, savings and credit, and community mobilization. Over the course of the project, the Aga Khan Foundation expects to improve agricultural productivity, increase food security, improve the nutritional status of beneficiaries, and broaden market opportunities for up to 35,000 households in seven districts of the province.
