Published purpose

This project aims to contribute to sustainable economic growth in Indonesia by improving the employability of graduates from public polytechnic institutes. The project supports the Government of Indonesia in its efforts to strengthen its technical and vocational skills training and education system, making it more responsive to labour market needs. Specifically, the project aims to increase productivity and strengthen industry competitiveness by building stronger linkages between polytechnic institutes and the private sector and by strengthening the capacity of selected polytechnic institutes to deliver high-quality programs that respond to employer needs in five key sectors: manufacturing, infrastructure, mining, agro-industry, and tourism. The project also aims to provide Indonesian education officials with direct exposure to Canadian best practices in technical and vocational training.
