Published purpose

The project supports the deployment of Canadian elections observers to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) multilateral observation missions to the Ukraine 2014 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. This initiative contributes up to 150 observers (15 Long Term Observers (LTOs) and 135 Short term Observers (STOs)) to monitor the initial round of Presidential voting on May 25, 2014 as well as a possible run-off election two weeks later. Canadian financial support will also provide for up to 102 Canadian election observers (12 long-term observers and 90 short-term observers) for the parliamentary elections on October 26, 2014, and for the deployment of four (4) Canadian Security Experts to participate in the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, from April to October 2014 and up to 25 Canadian Monitors from October 2014 to March 2015.
