Published purpose
The project draws on the Canadian Red Cross's (CRC) expertise to increase the capacity of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society's (PRCS) staff and volunteers to respond to emergency medical needs and provide specialized health services to the most vulnerable Palestinians. By increasing the emergency preparedness of the PRCS staff and its volunteers, the project helps to increase the resilience to shocks of Palestinians in ways that also promote gender equality. Project activities include: (1) improving the ability of PRCS to provide quality, timely pre-hospital emergency medical services; (2) ensuring vulnerable populations have greater access to quality primary and secondary health care services; and (3) improving the quality of rehabilitation services provided to persons living with disabilities while strengthening the PRCS volunteer network.
