Published purpose
This project aims to combat Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTFs) movement in conflict zones and monitor those engaged already in terrorist activities in conflict zones. This is done to enhance the security of Canadians at home and abroad, and aid counterterrorism and cybercrime law enforcement units of selected Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and member states. Project activities include: (1) undertaking a needs assessment with beneficiaries and key regional stakeholders; (2) delivering 2 three-day training for specialized law enforcement officers from national counter-terrorism units; (3) delivering 3 one-week training sessions on FTFs internet and social media use; and (4) developing a study that examines creating a database on released convicted bomb makers.
