Published purpose

This project aims to reduce vulnerability to transnational threats posed by international crime and trafficking in persons for Global Affairs Canada’s beneficiaries in Costa Rica. The project activities include: (1) conducting multi-stakeholder consultations and workshops to develop procedures and systems related to trafficking in persons; (2) identifying needs and gaps of police and justice sector’s ability to combat trafficking in persons, both nationally and regionally; (3) developing training material on trafficking in persons for police officers, prosecutors, judges, and other multisectoral actors; and (4) certifying and supporting police trainers to teach the multisectoral course at the National Police Academy and Judicial School of Costa Rica.
