Published purpose

This project aims to create a safe environment in conflict-affected communities to help strengthen their capacity to improve their safety and prevent, manage and transform conflict in South East Tunisia. This project helps security providers enhance communication, collaboration and coordination with local communities to improve their accountability, improve service delivery, and strengthen community safety. Project activities include: (1) establishing a Community Policing Dialogue and Cooperation forum to establish trust-building between communities and security providers; (2) establishing community safety plans to bring together members of the community to identify, develop and implement solutions to their safety and security need; (3) employing radio and media campaigns to diffuse trust building messages and communications among security providers and community members; and (4) developing Youth Empowerment and Safety toolboxes to engage and mobilize youth at-risk of becoming involved in armed groups or committing political violence.
