Published purpose
This project seeks to enhance the capacities of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries to detect and respond to emerging infectious diseases and other potential biological threats (including bioterrorism). It aims to do so through the development of a real-time bio-surveillance system (BioDiaspora). Project activities included: (1) developing the ASEAN-BioDiaspora application; (2) developing multi-sectoral partnerships with relevant stakeholders on animal health, disaster management and security; and (3) developing project governance and sustainability frameworks.
