Published purpose
The project facilitates Canadian support to the election observation mission of the Russian Federation State Duma on September 18, 2016. The mission is managed by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights' (OSCE/ODIHR). This project includes the mobilization and secondment of short-term observers. Canadian participation works to broaden the scope of the mission to observe and report on the electoral process and discourage election fraud in the Russian elections. This contributes to higher acceptance of election results among the Russian people.
