Published purpose

This project works to strengthen the capacity of Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) Sahel Working Group member states to address violent extremism. Project activities include: (1) facilitating the organization of a regional experts’ workshop on best practices to counter violent extremism (CVE) at the community level, allowing national practitioners to learn from experts and other countries in developing their own national plans for preventing violent extremism; and (2) facilitating the organization of a concurrent plenary meeting of the Sahel Working Group member states, which aims to present recommendations of the experts committee and address the issue of CVE, while also providing participants with guidelines and tools for the development of national plans.
