Published purpose

This project aims to improve the quality of health and political freedom by marginalized, conflict-affected and ethnic people, particularly women and girls, in Myanmar. It provides technical support to at-risk ethnic human rights defenders to adopt digital technologies and platforms to mitigate risks in a politically charged and fluid security environment. It aims to innovate in areas such as environmental protection, community development projects, health care services and in new partnerships and collaborations. Project activities include: (1) providing training to new and practicing health workers, including on sexual and reproductive health delivery and rights, particularly women; (2) providing dialogues, workshops and trainings to further expand and strengthen coordinated equitable healthcare; (3) training media partners in conflict-sensitive, non-discriminatory and inclusive news production; and (4) providing capacity-building trainings and exchanges for partners to deepen their understanding of rights issues. The project’s beneficiaries are 526,000 marginalized, conflict-affected and ethnic minority people and over 40 ethnic minority health partners.
