Published purpose

This project aims to improve the supply of drinking water and the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls, in three communes. This will be achieved through improved access to health and education services, and through interventions in governance and economic growth. Project activities include: (1) providing improved, sustainable, and equitable access to drinking water and basic social services in the communes of Falagountou and Gorom-Gorom; (2) supporting increased economic development and leadership of women and girls in the communes of Dori, Falagountou and Gorom Gorom; and (3) establishing improved inclusive and participatory local governance and territorial management. The initiative is intended to benefit the population of the three communes, estimated at 286, 280 persons. In addition, some 65,000 internally displaced persons who are currently being hosted by the three communes.
