Published purpose
March 2017 - This support to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Ukraine and Yemen contributes to providing access to basic life-saving primary and emergency secondary health care services to crisis-affected people. In Ukraine, project activities include: (1) filling critical gaps in delivery of quality essential and life-saving health services to conflict-affected population; (2) strengthening critical diseases control programmes and health sector response for priority public health risks; and (3) supporting sustainability of health care provision and resilience of conflict-affected population. In Yemen, project activities include: (1) providing integrated primary, secondary and referral health services, surveillance and response, and medical supplies in priority districts; (2) strengthening reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health interventions, including violence against women; (3) supporting community-based health initiatives and sustain the main pillars and infrastructure of the health system; and (4) strengthening health sector coordination and health information systems.
