Published purpose
This project aims to strengthen global mechanisms and capacities to respond to the deliberate use of biological agents, and to support more active participation in the processes of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) by countries with limited resources, as well as by the BTWC Implementation Support Unit (ISU). The project activities include: (1) planning and organizing 3 workshops and 3 stakeholder meetings to identify and assess capacity gaps in countries that prevent them from fully implementing the BTWC; (2) providing assistance to countries with limited resources to help them strengthen their legislative capacities; and (3) supporting essential outreach actions to BTWC members to encourage active participation in the Convention’s processes and greater engagement with them.
