Published purpose

This project aims to promote the implementation of national obligations under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540. To this end, it engages a regional coordinator from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Project activities include: (1) working with legislators and national decision-makers in CARICOM countries to advance the development and implementation of national laws prohibiting chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons; (2) developing national emergency response programs related to counterterrorism and weapons and materials of mass destruction; (3) supporting the strengthening of national reports for submission to the 1540 Committee of Experts; and (4) collaborating with private sector entities to identify opportunities to enhance the security of regional supply chains.
