Published purpose

This project aims to increase the sustainment of the Canada provided modular Biosafety level (BSL) 3 biological containment laboratory in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The sustainment of the lab will be increased through a modification of the ventilation system, hands on training of the local laboratory engineering staff, and additional support from Germfree Inc. for the Caribbean Public Health Agency. This project aims to increase the sustainability of the modular biosafety and biosecurity laboratory (BSL3) provided by Canada in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Project activities include: (1) supporting the modification of the ventilation system; (2) providing hands-on training to local laboratory technical staff; and (3) supporting maintenance and assistance provided by Germfree Inc. to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) for laboratory maintenance.
